SPECIFIC BEHAVIOUR TRAINING

Pre-Consultation; £50 @ 1 hour 30 mins

Training Session; £35 @1 hour

(surrounding areas 5+ miles - £60 then £45 per session)

I am a fully qualified animal behaviourist specialising in behavioural problems with canines. Specific behaviour training sessions are for owners who need a little help with either their current training or with specific difficulties they are facing with their canine. For example, your dog might be snappy with you or others, they might ignore you and be disobedient, aggressive with food or possessions etc.

The majority of problems can be fixed within one to two sessions. I will try my best to give you as much information as I can during the hour, but to see major results you will need more than one session depending on the behaviour we are trying to fix. You will receive a written checklist of my notes after each session via email.

PRE-CONSULTATION;

During the pre-consultation, we will discuss what needs are to be prioritised first. These sessions last 1 hour and 30 minutes, and I come to you. I will be making notes and building a plan for you for the training sessions to come.

The pre-consultation is part theory and part physical. The theory side will be filling out a pet profile for your dog(s). This includes commands that they already know, currently working on, and what you would like to learn. You will also fill out a boundaries list for your dog(s). Going back to basics with what your dog(s) does or does not know is very crucial to help me establish the respect level, hierarchy and what your dog(s) personality traits are.

All training starts at the home and if everyone is not on the same page in the family, this is damaging to your dog(s) training and development. Remember, every dog is different, and some are easier to train than others purely down to genetics. Every dog is trainable though, no matter the age or background. Consistency is key.

After the consultation, you will receive via email a PDF psychological assessment of your dog(s), a copy of your pet(s) profile, a training plan/guidance on anything you have specifically requested. From then on you can then book hourly sessions with me if needed.

  • Biting/Chewing Prevention

NUTRITIONAL ADVICE - £35
(surrounding areas 5+ miles £45)

Every dog is different. Something that might work out well for one dog might not for another. It can take a long time to get it right. There are so many questions to answer. The number of grams to the pound of dog, to the type of food you want them to eat; fully raw food, 50/50 raw and kibble, fully kibble. Any allergies? Hypoallergenic food treats. How many times a day should I feed my dog? Once, twice, three times a day? The list goes on.

I am qualified in nutrition for animals. Mainly canines and felines, but I can also help with smaller animals. I can help you work out when is the best time to feed, advice on what to feed and how it should be given, the amount compared to the dog's weight and then just general advice or questions that you might have.

If your dog has any known allergies I can also help with alternatives. If you are unable to work out what allergies your dog might have, but can't afford £500+ for a test with the vets then I can help you go back to basics with food and work out a plan to eliminate target foods and slowly introduce foods. This can take a while and is trial and error when it comes to allergies. something irritating their skin could be several things, not just food. Treats, grooming routine, even dust mites. I am happy to chat and work out a plan with you.

NEW PUPPY TRAINING - £150

(surrounding areas 5+ miles - £160)

New puppy training sessions will be good for any new dog owners who want to learn to connect with their new puppy. This is suitable for puppies up to 1 year old and upon consultation will consider slightly older puppies. Your new puppy will learn manners towards you and your household, as well as in public.

These sessions are 1 - 1, and I come to you.

Your house must meet my requirements which will be noted during the consultation.

During these training sessions, you and your puppy will learn all the basic commands for a happy healthy relationship. There will be 5 sessions, all lasting 1 hour each week. Each week will focus on something new, you will receive a worksheet to help practice when you are alone during the week. You will also have a light exam at the start of each new session to show me what you have been practising/learnt.

You will receive a free training clicker with a choice of colours, to use during training and keep to help maintain training goals.

Commands learnt by the end of this training session.

- Their name

- Watch me (focus on you)

- Come

- Down

- Sit

- Stay/Wait

- Leave

- You May/Yes

- Leash manners (No pulling/Rough Heel)

Once you and your puppy have completed all commands then you will both receive a certificate and homemade muffin as well as one free complimentary walk. Most, if not ALL puppies will complete this with flying colours as puppies love to learn at this ripe age, and are generally much easier to train, however, some older dogs or dogs who have certain pinpoint issues may require a few more sessions on top of this. If you feel you need more training or specific training then you can book those in after.

PUPPY ADVANCED OBEDIENCE TRAINING - £175

(surrounding areas are £185)

If you have not done basic puppy training with me then you will need to book a training pre-consultation (£50) @ 1 hr and 30 mins to see where you are at with your current training.

These training sessions are to advance in what your new puppy or older dog already knows, as well as learn some more intricate tricks. This can also be a time to discuss any specific commands you wish to learn. These sessions are 1 - 1, and I come to you. Your house must meet my requirements which will be noted during the consultation.

During these training sessions, you and your puppy/dog will advance in the commands that they already have learned to help maintain the strong bond. There will be 5 sessions, all lasting 1 hour each week. Each week you will be set tasks, and like in the basic training, you will receive a worksheet to help practice when you are alone during the week. You will also have a light exam at the start of each new session to show me what you have been practising/learnt. I will provide a clicker during the training sessions, but I would recommend buying a clicker to practise while I am not there.

Some commands to be learnt/extended during the training sessions.

- Paw/ High five

- Come & Away

- Heel (figure of 8 around cones)

- Down (10 seconds & distractions)

- Sit & Stay (10 seconds & distractions)

- Stay (10 seconds & distractions)

- Leave (10 seconds & distractions)

- Leave & You May

- Watch me (focus on you for longer with distractions)

- Round (your legs & focus on you)

- Through (your legs and back round)

- Walk with (constant contact while walking)

A lot of these commands can be mixed into one once learnt, so a lot of these can be learnt in multiples in one session. As long as you are willing to practise you will see results. Upon completion of your checklist of commands, you will receive a certificate for both you and your dog. If you feel you need more training or specific training then you can book those in after.

AGILITY TRAINING - £200 (+£75 refundable deposit to rent equipment)

(surrounding areas are £210)

Agility training will be somewhat specific to what breed you have. We can discuss fully what it is you want you and your canine to achieve in these sessions. There is a total of 5 sessions at 1 hour each, and these will be either in your garden if you have grass or if you don't have grass then at a nearby field.

You can either rent out equipment from me to use during the 5 weeks. (Deposit of £75 to rent out) and give back after receiving the equipment back.) OR you can buy your own.

Agility will start basic and then lead into more advanced techniques as we progress. Progression depends on the breed, age and commands that they already know/don't know. It also depends on the bond that you and your canine already have, if this is not as strong then this is something that we will try to work on alongside agility. Agility is about trust and connection, both of you working together.
